Kathrein launches a new generation of
RFID-UHF readers, developed at Kathrein’s sites in Rosenheim,
Burgstadt and Niederndorf. Continually growing demands of RFID-UHF
systems called for the development of this state-of-the-art
technology, a flexible modular concept based on the Intel R100 Chip.
Various functional modules can be attached offering a diversity of
interfaces and performance categories.
Compared to other products, the housing
volume is 50% smaller, but the protection standards IP54 to IP65 are
still fulfilled.
A further advantage of the design is
the shorter and therefore the more cost-efficient development time
periods required for customization. (e.g. proprietary interfaces).
To improve the performance of the
reader beyond the state of the current UHF systems, an intelligent
antenna interface has been integrated, guaranteeing an optimal
adaptation and also the posibility of controlling the antenna
diagrame. The EPC Global GEN2 standard
is supported in the ETSI frequency range 865-868 MHz as well as in
the FCC range 902-928 MHz. The power of the modules ranges between
100mW-2W. The antenna interface is available in 1-way and 4-way.
There are also connection interfaces for: USB, Ethernet 10/100,
RS422, RS485, 8-way I/O module.
